tapt (operated by Tapt88) hosts digital business card profiles. This policy explains what personal information we process, why, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
If you have a tapt profile, we process the details you choose to publish (name, title, contact details, photo, content), your login email, and billing information. Payments are processed by Paystack — we never see or store your card number. We use this information solely to provide and bill for the service.
If you visit someone's tapt card, we do not set tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not build a profile of you. We count anonymous interactions (e.g. that a card was viewed or a button was tapped) so the card owner can see how their card performs — these counts are not linked to your identity. If you choose to submit your details through a form on a card, that information goes to the card's owner, who is the responsible party for it under POPIA; contact them directly to access or delete it.
We use only strictly necessary cookies: a session cookie that keeps card owners signed in to their editor. There are no analytics, marketing or third-party advertising cookies, which is why we don't show a cookie consent banner.
Data is hosted with our infrastructure providers (Supabase and Netlify) on servers in the EU and US, protected with encryption in transit and at rest and access controls. We keep it only as long as needed to provide the service.
Under POPIA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may object to processing. Card owners can edit or delete their own profile content at any time in their editor. For anything else, email us and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
